Nikon Announces a 28-75mm f/2.8 Lens That’s Affordable and Unexpected

Nikon, perhaps copying Tamron's strategy, has released a surprisingly affordable 28-75mm f/2.8 lens. Tamron's wildly popular 28-75mm f/2.8 proved that good image quality combined with smart compromises to bring price down is a winning formula, and it seems Nikon is now following suit with a similar lens, the NIKKOR Z 28-75mm f/2.8. At $1,199, the new lens is slightly more expensive than the Tamron option but still significantly cheaper than traditional 24-70mm f/2.8 options. And at just 1.2 lbs (565 g), it is also far more portable.
