Canon Announces the EOS R3: 24 Megapixels, 30 Frames per Second, 6K Raw, and a Price to Match

Canon has fully unveiled the EOS R3, a full frame mirrorless camera with a 24.1-megapixel backside-illuminated sensor that shoots continuously, black-out free, at up to 30 frames per second. The R3 will go on sale at $5,999. Canon has been teasing customers over the last couple of months, revealing some details but holding off on a few key specifications such as the resolution. The backside-illuminated 24.1-megapixel sensor is Canon’s first, allowing the camera’s impressive 30 frames per second with reduced rolling shutter.
